About Us

The Lewisville Juvenile Treatment Center (LJTC) is a staff secure residential treatment center where young men ages 13 to 18 receive therapeutic services in a short-term treatment program lasting 6 to 9 months.  

Managed by Rite of Passage in partnership with the Arkansas Division of Youth Services, LJTC provides an environment that is both safe and nurturing, ensuring youth receive individualized educational services, comprehensive vocational training, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and structured pro-social recreational activities, all designed to foster positive development and growth.

Supportive Campus Culture

Youth at Lewisville become a part of a cohesive, supportive community. Every young man feels like he belongs and can succeed. Our program provides a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where youth receive targeted treatment and interventions specific to his risk and need. 

Our Model

Our Integrated Care Model incorporates a strengths-based approach with positive youth development, social learning theory, and gender-specific, trauma-informed care to foster physical, psychological, and emotional safety.  

The program is tailored to meet the unique needs of its participants with developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed services. 

Treatment Services

The clinical team works collaboratively with each youth, his family and case management to develop an individualized treatment plan that addresses his specific risk and need factors. Master-level therapists provide individual counseling as well as evidence based group treatment.  Interventions and treatment services include Aggression Replacement Therapy, Lifeskills Training, Thinking for a Change, Substance Abuse Treatment for Adolescents, A Young Man’s Guide to Self-Mastery, and Seeking Safety. 

Extracurricular Opportunities

Participation in athletics and other extracurricular activities have a positive impact on a young person’s cognitive development and overall mental health.  Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities, such as recreation and athletics, clubs, community services, and daily exercise to enhance talents, strengths, and interests while promoting a positive lifestyle. 

Family Engagement

LJTC recognizes the role of the family in a young man’s success while placed with us, as well as when he returns home.Our program is designed to foster strong family connections and enhance parenting skills. Families are invited to visit the campus to participate in therapy, attend parent-teacher conferences, enjoy family fun days and celebrate their sons’ achievements 

Academic & Vocational Training

LJTC offers year-round educational and vocational services tailored to meet the individual needs of each student. The curriculum aligns with the Arkansas Department of Education requirements and the Arkansas Curriculum Framework, ensuring that credits are transferable. 

Vocational training currently provided in Carpentry, CareerSafe, ServeSafe, Barbering, Landscaping, and Custodial Skills. These programs are designed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge that support their educational and career development.
